9:14PM - Hey look, there's my Cerebral Ballzy shirt being worn in the new Death Set video.

The Death Set made a new music video and you can see Roofeo, the drummer, wearing my Cerebral Ballzy shirt in there.

5:56PM - Pitchfork mentioned the upcoming Jay Reatard stuff I designed.

I recently designed two records for Jay Reatard's Shattered Record's Club. I'm also doing a watercolor portrait of him for a T-shirt.  It was just mentioned on Pitchfork and also on Jay's site. Jay created ths Shatted Fan Club before he died and it was up to his manager to see it through.  It's a bummer that this fanclub started off as a fun idea from Jay Reatard and it ended commemorating the one year anniversary of his death.  

4:37AM - I made this rejected invitation art.

I designed this invitation for my aunt's clothing store based on her direction. It was rejected based on being inconsistent with the aesthetic the store is trying to go for but I think it's still nice looking..

2:16AM - I drew this flyer for my party.

I hope this will be the last of my hosting parties on a monthly basis. I'll keep doing them, just not with a monthly deadline. The quality of my work's been slipping.

6:33PM - This guy named Steve got a drawing of mine tattooed on his leg!

"Hey Nick

This is a party I host every month, Midnite Till Death.

12:52PM - My Colt 45 Ad.

I was asked to do art for a Colt 45 ad in which I drew images of Billy Dee Williams that would go on a sticker that could be wrapped around a can of Colt 45. I did these three above and they ended up using all of them in the ad. Being a huge Star Wars fan I was pretty psyched to do this.



Here's the ad as it appeared in the magazine. A two page spread with a two sided sticker sheet in between. I preferred my original ad copy that I made up. "Man and beast agree, Colt 45 works every time."



Here's the original bio page that the people directing this ad made but apparently Colt 45 was confused by all the horse references. It's like they didn't know that their beer's name and logo are horsey references.

12:27PM - I Drew This Record Cover for Boy 8-Bit.

I did the art for the front and back covers of the Boy 8-Bit 12" record, "Still Killing." This is the first 12" record I've ever done and I'm psyched that it was for Mad Decent, one of my favorite record labels. I've done 7"s, a 10" and now a 12". This was art directed by my friend and associate, Mike Jones. If you want to own it, you can buy it for only $8 from Mad Decent.  Here are some bigger images of the front and back cover.

And the aristocat inside eats him I guess.  I left a little note to the art director on the part of teh image that would be cropped out.  

9:12PM - I drew this poster for the next Midnite Till Death party.

I drew this poster art for Friday's Midnite Till Death party. There may be a limited amount of silkscreened prints of this for sale at the show.
